These Christmas Carol Favorites are in easily played keys, all in bass clef, in hymnal style, and perfect for sing-alongs. Due to the range, the first part requires a good player(s) and the 4th part requires an F attachment but not a bass trombonist. The middle parts are easily played by a high school students or amateur trombonists, making these carols perfect for a quick impromptu performance.
These arrangements came about when, in mid-November, my dean asked to have the BSU trombone choir play 15 minutes of carols in the lobby of the hall during the intermission of our Holiday Concert. After I said yes I realized that even though I owned many good arrangements of carols for trombone choir, most of them were difficult and I only had two rehearsals. A quick look online showed that there were no simple, traditional arrangements of carols for trombones. In other words, trombonists didn't have a version of the Rasmussen books. I borrowed an old carol book from the library and quickly transcribed half a dozen, keeping the harmony and putting repeats on each stanza. Later I picked 25 well-known carols and published this arrangement.
These are also available for brass ensemble as Cherry Classics 2764, horn quartet/choir as Cherry Classics 3078, and tuba/euphonium ensemble as Cherry Classics 2645
