EQUIPMENT: MOUTHPIECES
Trombone mouthpieces are listed by shank size and mouthpiece size. There are two shank sizes: small (for student instruments and some small-bore horns) and large (large bore tenor trombones and bass trombones). Mouthpiece size usually refers to cup depth. There are dozens of mouthpiece makers and hundreds of mouthpieces; my video covers the basic concepts of mouthpiece design and gives specific recommendations for beginners, advanced players and bass trombonists.
